This year's Shakti Rising Summer Faire was the most successful yet. On Saturday, June 28th, the local community came together in Golden Hill to enjoy a day of phenomenal activities, workshops and performances for free.

In total, over 100 individuals and organizations made in-kind donations or donated their time and services to make the Summer Faire so successful. Summer Faire's five corporate sponsors were critical in helping Shakti Rising meet its Summer Faire fundraising goals.

We are happy to announce that the total proceeds from the Summer Faire are $2750. All proceeds will go directly back into Shakti Rising's Transformation Through Service Program, invoking transformation that empowers young women to uncover, rediscover and reclaim their whole selves.

Shakti Rising is a San Diego-based nonprofit working to create social change by invoking transformation that empowers young women to uncover, rediscover and reclaim their whole selves. Shakti, founded in 1999, is the only gender-specific transformation program in San Diego comprehensively treating young women (15-30) with multiple co-existing conditions such as addiction, sexual abuse, family and dating violence, intimacy, and negative body/self-image. We deliver education, empowerment, and recovery services that encompass the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of healing and address the complex intertwining of core issues. Shakti's services are offered through three primary programs: the Transformational Recovery Apprenticeship Program, the Education and Community Wellness Program and the Transformation through Service Program.
